It used to be said that men's jewelry was limited to watches and tie pins. However the American luxury brand William Henry has developed a new dimension to that. Matt Conable created his firm in 1997 and designs collections which are described as functional art, an expression which speaks for itself.
The designs of the newest product linw was developed through a cooperation with Scott Keating a designer who specialises in jewelry. Gemstone-incrusted pocket knives, pens, and golf accessories are some of the products which can be found in the collection.
Blends of precious stones and steel are examples of innovations made by the brand.
The marketing and selling strategy is based on limited editions only and the uniqueness of each product which is never identical to another.
Comments:
Why should such a product seduce a customer?
Well, during the crisis and global economic panic, consumers had a tendency to restrain from non-functional purchases. However, this type of luxury maintains a function, although sold at a premium price.
Furthermore, it gives men who are increasingly aware of fashion a new way to differentiate their personal style.
Pocketnives are amongst the masculine must-haves, but its distinctive to have a gemstone-incrusted one.
The product can also, like any jewelry serve as a store of value or asset because of the gemstones.
Finally, it's also appealing to women who face the eternal problem of the Christmas present for their man. This is a new wind blowing in the world of jewelry for men.
I love your article Charlotte, it is pretty interesting, of course they using the Carte of exclusiveness, by launching limited editions, which is a really good, point when we talk about luxury.

But you now the brand Thomas Sabo, it is not really luxury but it is pretty fashionable and they understand this point and they started before, but well it is not a luxury brand.
Good point about the Christmas gift, I would like to have one.
Would you buy me one?
